Assessment 1: Recognising leadership Select an example of an effective leader from a movie, book, popular culture, or modern history and analyse what contributed or contributes to their effectiveness using one or more of the leadership theories we have reviewed as part of this subject.

Most people have conscious, or implicit views about what ‘makes’ a great leader. In this assessment, we ask you to begin to reflect on your views, by identifying and critically examining what effective leadership means in relation to the leadership theories and examples we explore in this subject.
