Reading Like a Historian as a model and guide, this assignment
essentially consists of applying the process discussed in the book to the primary source analysis of a contemporaneous saints life
(hagiography). Students will examine the historical context of the
primary source as well as discuss what the source can tell us about
the major themes of the course.
