It could also be about a hobby you participate in, such as a sport, a career interest, etc., and how information about that is distributed while analyzing the effects on the subject or individual. For example, you could look into Twitter and the issues facing mass communication, what constitutes valid information: journalism/blogging, follow the path of ownership: if/how conglomerates affect information dispersal, media and its effects on consumerism, and so on.

What does it say about me as a runner(if I was a runner)? Why did I get into it? What health ploys do I get from the media? What information is real about it and how do I know? Oh boy…lots to write about. If subheadings help, use them! Break up the essay into different pieces if you want. If you get caught, do it about several topics, like technology and something else.
