P‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍roject proposal for a complete HVAC System including heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration. Description of the project: Imagine or assume using this proposal to upgrade or installing a new system in the building for Planet fitness gym with 10000 – 30000 SQF, 2 floors, the 2nd floor just could be a few rooms for administration offices

The description should be approximately three double spaced pages and should

(a) describe the project, its approximate square footage, and

 (b) explain how you expect to complete the project. While you must address all the questions below, you need not do it in any order.

(A) State clearly the proposed HVAC project. What is the contribution you hope to make? Describe your project’s relationship to your ongoing work or area of concentration. You must also clearly specify the expected output (example: functional requirements of the building, owner service requirements and HVAC/R design project) and discuss the specific methods with which you will complete your project. Include a preliminary description of the mixed HVAC/R system. Your system design is required to be a complex system with a central plant and secondary systems.

(B) Does your proposal explain your preparation to carry out your project? First, beyond methods, skills, and techniques, what intellectual or theoretical background does the project require and how did you develop this background? Second, your proposal should show how you intend to complete your project in a semester. Create a list of milestones you will need to pass to complete your project and include that l‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍ist in your proposal together with estimated dates for when you will hit each one. Annotated Bibliography or Relevant Works: The bibliography should situate a student’s project within a body of work in their field. This should include 8-12 books, articles, key documents, catalogs, etc. Please provide the full citation and a short description of the relevance of each text or work to the proposed project.

Required Scope for Senior Project:

Design a commercial HVAC/R Project that incorporates all four areas of your studies: heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration. HVAC/R project design should be developed around learnt HVAC system basics and be original work. Each project must include a complex system design (central plant with secondary systems) and mixed equipment to match buildings performance objectives. Footprint of building: choose between 10000 – 60000 SQF.

Minimum square footage and levels – 10,000 with 2 levels Maximum square footage- 60,000 with 6 levels Building’s footprint needs to incorporate multiple building functions and service requirements to meet senior project scope expectations.

Mixed mechanical systems used for this project should have different types of HVAC systems including chillers, cooling tower, fluid cooler, dedicated outdoor air system units, water source heat pumps, chilled water fan coil units and fans. VRF systems must meet outdoor air requirements for your mechanical system design. Project must not exceed estimated mechanical cost for building design outlined in RS Means for style of building and mechanical sys‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍tem layout.
