PICOT Question
In young adults having a knee replacement, how effective is continuous physical therapy exercises compared to PCA pain medication in realizing finest range of motion during the postoperative period?
Population– Young adults having a knee replacement
Intervention– continuous physical therapy exercises, Wound healing by first intention, pain relief. Infectious control measures for wound healing to prevent wound infection Post -surgical counseling. Patient and family education, Diet high in protein, and fiber and multivitamin
Comparison– PCA pain medication
Outcome– finest range of motion, no complications. Patient is able to return home and to resume daily activities
Time– postoperative period and rehabilitation
