Criminal Justice: The United States does not have the right to torture suspected
Paper details One of the pages needs to be the annotated bibliography.
Quick Response
The topic of torturing suspects has been hotly debated in the United States. According to the American values and ideals, the detainees and the prisoners are entitled to humane treatment. Therefore, the US upholds these values as a strategy of ensuring that they do not sink to the level of terrorist groups. In addition, the US upholds and promotes human rights and ensure that they show their commitment to the rule of law (Hancock, 2007). Another argument suggests that torture provides no strategic advantage when dealing with enemies. Such torture is identified as abuse and mistreatment of the detainees. Therefore, the US opts to consider moral foundation and act on the detainees without abandoning any values of the American society.
