1.) compre attitudes about the role of race in individual identity in Jame’s Baldwin’s novel “Govanni’s Garden” and Countee Cullen’s poem “Heritage”, to make a textual analysis for research for the essay.
2.) Then write a five page interpretative essay with an interpertation of attitudes about the role of race in either the novel or the poem, using the textual analysis from the comparison of two works for research.
3.) Also use three secondary sources (scholarly articles outside of the novel and poem given) that are current (from 2015 to 2022), and cite them in MLA 9.
4.) Make sure to write an original thesis statement regarding the interpretation of one of the texts.
