As our Diabetes Service runs within a specialist cancer hospital, diabetes specific education is a key part of our role to support our colleagues and to promote diabetes care in order to ensure that it is fully considered and included in our patient pathways and treatment plans. The current and ongoing need to review technology, processes and protocols to support this is essential. This work is in addition to the direct patient care but is extremely important to grow and imbed our service to become the best possible specialist diabetes service in cancer care services and lead the way for other specialist centres.
