3. This portion of your CTA should be completed by Monday, January 10th to allow for conferencing and feedback. The final submission after conferencing will be due on Monday, January 17th.

 

4. Keep in mind that you will be beginning Part 2 of the CTA in class when we return after the holiday break – if you leave this CTA until the last minute, you may find it difficult to complete everything in time.   1. Read the article titled Jihad vs McWorld (Find as a downloadable image on the CTA assignment on myWillow). Write a paragraph that describes how you feel about the spread of McWorld. In your response, include how trade agreements, often considered beneficial to people and economies, help the spread of McWorld.

 

  1. How does fair-trade certification protect small producers in developing countries? Should consumers be concerned about how and where the products they buy are made? Explain whether you would be willing to pay more for products that have been made by people who have signed ethical and fair-trade agreements.

Step 1:

 

  • Create a Word document titled “CGW4U CTA research name” and share it with Warren on Teams (replace ‘name’ with your name). This is where you will keep track of all your research notes, sources, and citations for this CTA. DO THIS NOW.

 

Step 2:

 

Gather research for the following and add it into your research document:

 

  • Explain how globalization has contributed to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and select one country where this trend is evident
  • Explain how a specific technology is assisting or harming your country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and describe how this technology might impact society in the future
  • Explain how the mass media is contributing to your country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic

 

 

Step 3:

 

Gather research for the following and add it into your research document:

 

  • Identify other countries that are experiencing a similar response to the pandemic and explain how the situation is specific to each country
  • Identify how a government and/or an international body is protecting human rights (or not) in relation to their response to COVID-19 and the use of the technology identified in Step 2
  • Ensure that the above points investigate the impacts of globalization on your selected country and the relationships it makes with other countries

 

Step 4:

 

  • Get feedback from Warren on your research and make any additions or changes as required (this feedback will be ongoing on the form of comments on your document shared through Teams)

 

Step 5:

  • Present learning in a video essay (i.e. using specific software like Adobe Premiere or by narrating a presentation using software like PowerPoint – see link below)
  • How to Narrate a PowerPoint Presentation
  • To receive effective feedback on this step regarding the structure and flow of your presentation, it is recommended that you share your PowerPoint file with Warren on Teams as well.
  • Cite all sources appropriately in APA format, using in-text citations whenever possible
